With the start of Manbij liberation campaign on May 2016, many international volunteers joined the operation along Arab, Turkmen and Kurdish fighters of the Manbij Military Council. Coming from around the world, it was of great importance to them to cut the transfer route of Daesh (ISIS) terrorists from Manbij to Turkey and then to Europe – for that, they were ready to sacrifice their lives. In Manbij, three volunteers from the US, two others from UK and Slovenia were martyred in action along Manbij freedom fighters.
After the city’s liberation on August 15, 2016, many of those volunteers chose to remain in and around the city to assist local Manbij units defending the region. Especially, when an occupying actor had entered the scene of Syrian war, those volunteers who had not tolerated terror and oppression, could not accept Turkish occupation threatening Manbij and northern Syria. Robîn Agirî and Zana Ciwan were of the first international volunteers who stood along Manbij people defying Turkish army and affiliated terrorists.
Robîn Agirî (Michael Israel) was from California, United States of America, he had joined the northern Syria revolution on July 2016, his motivation was: “I am here to protect the peoples’ revolution of Rojava and fight enemies of the struggle.”
Zana Ciwan (Anton Leschek) was a fearless youth from Germany. Anton joined the Manbij Military Council of Manbij on September 2016, once he did, he said: “It’s a true fight in Rojava for me, because here people neither surrender to tyranny nor to terror. I will support this democratic revolution to the end.”
Michael and Anton were martyred on November 24 as result of Turkish airstrikes on western Manbij where Manbij Military Council continues to put a fierce resistance against occupying Turkish army and its affiliated terrorists.

Yo
wenn selbst nix geht, dann wenigstens fundiert kritisiert wo was geht. So ists recht.
