Greece: Text written by the anarchist hunger striker Arigiris Dalios

“A breath and an ending. And back from the start again… On the edge of the cliff, tumble our unrepentant dreams… “

In the hours when these lines are written, I am on the 41st day of hunger strike. A strike which we started together with the comrades from the Network of Fighting Prisoners on March 2 and which aims to sabotage and to deliver substantial blows to the Greek repressive policy (187, 187A, hood-law, arbitrary use of DNA), giving a loud slap in the face of the humanitarian mask of the vendors of hope of the new government.

Landing my fingers on this piece of paper. Difficult process. Looking to find the concentration after so many days of physical extermination, trying to share thoughts, feelings, inner concerns, to steal a little contact with the people of the struggle outside the bars. With those people with whom we GIVE A COMMON FIGHT for so many days, lifting the heavy burden of our choices. An hourglass counting backwards. A decision and a perspective of conflict. A struggle without a start and an end date. De facto. The words become harsh when dealing with the health of a human body. But stubbornness, determination, the PASSION FOR CONTINUING our struggle slip away from the medical announcements and health indications. You grit your teeth and you must continue. You last longer than you can, than you think you can… The feeling of hunger embroiders the entire body. And you still grit your teeth. To continue… For your courageous wear.

Life outside the window of my cell-chamber, here in the General State Hopsital of Nikea, passes normally by as if nothing was wrong, the routine circulates hypocritically in the streets, the people I observe sink in their individual microcosm. The lies and slanders of the journalists, the screams of the right-wing garbage which sling mud to our fight, while the supposedly humanists of SYRIZA EXTERMINATE many political prisoners by delaying in a provocative way.

But freedom lurks wherever you want to find it: In any large or small possibility of conflict, there where from the cracks of the conflicts blossoms all the beauty-along of course with the risks- of the struggle. All those solidarity gestures, all those actions which CAN NOT BE ASSIMILATED BY THE AUTORITARIAN APPARATUS…

How can the purposeful and dynamic occupations of public buildings that clearly transmit our words and our demands to the outside be “assimilated”?

How can the fires of conflict which feed us with determination or the slogans on the walls of the parliament which mock their democracy be “assimilated”?

How can the surprising arson attacks in every corner of the country that outline our struggle with the most beautiful be “assimilated”? And they are many. A thorn in normality and social peace they seek but don’t have…

COMRADES IT IS TOO LATE TO STEP BACK

UNTIL THE SATISFACTION OF OUR DEMANDS

STRENGTH TO ALL COMRADES FROM THE NETWORK OF FIGHTING PRISONERS

WAR AGAINST THEIR DEMOCRACY
